What it is

Skate Art Studio is a label and platform, not just an annual exhibition. Each year, artists create original works on skateboard decks. The decks are exhibited, documented, and offered for sale. The catalogue grows. The artists change. The platform continues.

The name Telč carries weight outside the Czech Republic even if locals take it for granted. A UNESCO heritage site, Renaissance architecture, and now — art on skateboards. That combination travels.

The model

The financial structure is transparent by design:

  • 80 % of each sale goes to the artist (net of statutory 15 % withholding tax)
  • 10 % goes to Skate Club Telč — directly funding community infrastructure
  • 10 % covers operations and promotion

No hidden margins. No gallery overhead. The artist keeps the majority; the community gets a share of every sale.

Vernissage 2026

The 2026 exhibition opened on July 3rd on the ground floor of Telč Town Hall. The following day, Ulrike Reinhard — founder of the Janwaar skatepark in India — visited Telč and gave a public talk at the University Center.
